Very rare 15 karat gold ring from the Georgian/Regency era featuring three garnet intaglios depicting the religious symbols of faith, hope, and charity (a cross, anchor, and heart). Notice the granulation placed between the stones to emphasize their meaning (similar to a rosary) and the chased floral shoulders. US size 8, resizable within reason.

The Georgian era refers to the period of British history between 1714 and 1837 ruled by the five Hanoverian Kings: George I, George II, George III and George IV. King William IV followed with a short reign that ended the period in 1837 with his death. Making the jewelry from this period was labor intensive as jewelers were limited by hand tools to manipulate metal and gems. Georgian jewels can be recognized by early diamonds like the rose-cut, commonly backed with foil in closed-back settings to enhance their sparkle in candlelight.
