FAQ

General

Each piece of our jewellery is handcrafted and shipped from our studio currently located in Alberta, Canada.

My designs are quite fluid. I am pitiful at drawing, but very tactile. I purchase rare and unique stones, or stones that I connect with, and lay them out either on a flat surface or into wax until I am satisfied with the overall feel of the piece. I work with an ancient process called lost wax casting that’s been around for thousands of years.  Because I'm personally drawn to old world items, I find that this process enables me to achieve that same traditional aesthetic. Lost wax casting is an exciting process which begins with a wax sculpture that with centrifugal force is replicated into metal. The process is magical and the aesthetic emphasizes uniqueness and simplicity while also being bold and organic. It is my absolute passion from beginning to end. My clients inspire me everyday and I am increasingly bettered by the people I am so fortunate to meet through the jewellery process.

OOAK stands for One Of A Kind. Each and every piece is made by hand, thus no two are the same.  You can be assured that there is nobody else with your exact piece regardless of whether you purchased it online, through one of our stockists, or whether it is a custom piece. Please allow for some colour variance from website to home as lighting can cause differences — though we endeavour to reflect real-life appearances as closely to what they are in person.

I work exclusively with gold, usually yellow gold in either 14, 18 or 19 carat. I am more than happy to discuss any custom work in white gold or rose gold. Each piece is stamped.

The majority of the stones I work with are diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls. The lost wax process requires the stones in every piece to be hard enough to withstand the high temperatures of casting. 100% of the stones I use are sustainably and ethically sourced. Wherever our diamonds are GIA certified (an independent grading process via which a stone is rated for colour, clarity, cut, and carat weight), this will be clearly indicated on the product page. These products include a copy of the diamond GIA report upon purchase. Please keep in mind that raw stones, or stones in older cuts, cannot be GIA certified due to their raw state or cut — this is not a mark against their quality.

I am happy to have your pieces appraised by a trusted appraiser for a fee. This may delay the arrival of your purchase about 1 week.

Happily! Please contact me to discuss at info@keltypelechytik.com. We can discuss in person, via email, phone or video conference at your convenience.

If you have your own diamonds, rubies or sapphires you’d like to incorporate, I would love to work with them. Your stones will always have to be inspected to ensure their quality and grade in order to achieve success — and most importantly to make certain they will not be damaged by the process.

If your stones are certified, please provide their certificates, as this can help this stage considerably.

A 50% deposit is required prior to production for customized and bespoke pieces. The balance is then due upon completion and prior to delivery. All the goods and materials involved remain the property of Kelty Pelechytik Fine Jewellery until the balance is paid in full.

Sizing

I am happy to measure your size in studio, but if we are working remotely any reputable jeweller will be able to size you accurately. Please keep in mind that printable ring sizers and plastic sizers are not reliable or consistently accurate.

Some of my designs do not allow for resizing, so please make sure to size accurately. However, if your item is resizable, I am happy to do so for a fee. Shipping and shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

RETURNS & REPAIRS

Website purchases can be returned for a full refund within 14 days of purchase in their original condition. Please contact us at info@keltypelechytik.com to initiate a return. International returns may required a customs declaration to be filled out prior to return to avoid unnecessary customs fees.

Any items which have been resized or altered are final sale.

We do not accept returns on bespoke or custom pieces. Our main objective is providing our customers with pieces they are in love with forever. It is imperative that we communicate clearly prior to the creation of a custom piece and that you never feel pressured or rushed. If, for whatever reason, you are dissatisfied with your custom piece, please contact us immediately upon delivery.

All sale and layaway purchases are final sale.

CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY

Soak your jewellery in warm water with some mild dish soap. If required, gently brush away any dirt and debris using a soft toothbrush. Rinse under clean, warm water and blot dry with a soft cloth (ideally a polishing cloth, and never a paper towel or tissue). Repeat if necessary.

Please be mindful that gold is a soft metal, and is susceptible to dings and scratches. Please also be aware that chlorine and abrasive household cleaners are also known to weaken gold.

Each piece is designed to be loved and to withstand a range of lifestyles, but all fine jewellery should be treated with care. We provide a one-year warranty on all of our jewellery from the date of purchase, provided that it has not been worked on by another jeweller. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and defects in materials, but does not cover theft, mysterious disappearance, loss or damage caused by everyday wear or act of god, or damage attributable to misuse, mishandling, contact with chemicals or fire, or use outside of accepted patterns of wear. It is recommended to insure jewellery against unforeseen circumstances, and to have fine jewellery checked yearly (this service is offered for free by many jewellers, who can perform it while you wait).

Beyond the warranty period we will quote you for any possible repairs on a case by case basis. Please send any inquiries to info@keltypelechytik.com for further information.

SHIPPING

We ship worldwide.

Website orders will be shipped within two business days. Canadian residents should allow five business days (weather permitting). Worldwide shipping will take one to two weeks, depending on the destination. Expedited shipping is recommended for international orders upon checkout. Please contact us should you require assistance with, or have any questions about, shipping and delivery estimates. If you need something sooner, please email us and, wherever possible, we will endeavour to find options to prioritize dispatch. This will affect the price and may not be available in every instance.

Custom pieces require an 8 to 10 week turnaround time for manufacturing, which allows time to outsource the required stones. We understand you may need your piece by a certain date, or for a special occasion. If this is the case, please let us know as early in the process as possible, and we will do everything we can to meet that time frame.

If your chosen delivery address is different from your billing address, we will assume your order is a gift and will not include a paper receipt with your item. If you have any questions about gift orders, please email us at info@keltypelechytik.com

Customers are responsible for any duties and taxes which may occur in the country of delivery.

Unfortunately we cannot deliver to PO boxes, as we require a signature on delivery for all shipments.
